Did I not write an email to you about that?

Spot the ball: the non-wide-screen experience

I’m still watching the football, and I notice with some annoyance that the producers are still punishing me for not owning a wide-screen TV. For some reason — surely not having forgotten the olden days when TVs were a little squarer — they opt to frame the action on what would be the edge of a wide screen, perhaps to give their preferred viewers a sweeping panoramic view of the field, crowd and perhaps a cheeky glimpse of the outside parking lot. For those of us with TV-shaped TVs, the ball spends most of the game just out of shot.

Now I can understand making such a mistake now and then, but I sent the Champions League website a sternly worded email weeks ago. Nothing has changed since then. Nothing.
